A “Night” of Elevation in Madrid

Congratulations to our newest Master Mason, who was raised to the Sublime Degree this month at Logia Emulation 67.

There is no moment in a Freemason’s journey quite as profound as the Elevation to the Third Degree. This month, within the sacred precincts of our Temple in the Orient of Madrid, we gathered to witness a Brother complete his initial journey through the Craft.

The Solemnity of the Third Degree

The ceremony of a Master Mason Degree is the pinnacle of Craft Masonry. It is a dramatic and deeply philosophical experience that invites the candidate to reflect on the transitory nature of human existence and the immortality of the soul.

As is tradition in our regular jurisdiction under the Gran Logia de España (GLE), the Volume of the Sacred Law was opened to the moving passages of Ecclesiastes 12, while for some of our Brethren, the inclusive nature of our Lodge allowed for the parallel resonance of Alma 40, reminding us that “all things shall be restored to their proper and perfect frame.”

From Labor to Refreshment

Masonic labor is demanding, requiring focus, memory, and a sincere heart. However, the bond of Brotherhood is truly cemented when the Lodge is closed and we transition from “Labor to Refreshment.”

Following the ceremony, the Brethren as is becoming a cherished tradition for Emulation 67, we enjoyed a fantastic spread of Indian food paired with fine Spanish wines. Both our members and our visiting Brethren found the blend of flavors and the depth of conversation truly memorable. It is here, in the heart of Madrid, where the “Sublime Degree” meets the simple, universal joy of fraternal affection.

Join Our Journey

At Emulation 67, we take pride in maintaining the highest standards of the Emulation Rite while fostering a welcoming environment for English-speakers and locals alike. Whether you are a visiting Brother from the UGLE, the Gran Logia de Bolivia, or a seeker looking for the light, our doors are open.
